As Chief Executive Officer of Furnished Quarters, Steven Brown leads the company's inventory curation, global operations, revenue management, and growth strategies.
Prior to
co-founding Furnished Quarters in 1998, Steven amassed extensive experience in retail and real estate. He spent nine years at Macy's as Vice President of Merchandising, honing his skills in product selection and market analysis. Subsequently, at Douglas Elliman, he gained deep insights into the real estate industry.
Steven's entrepreneurial vision was sparked by reading about furnished apartment rentals in the New York Times, leading him to identify an untapped market for high-quality furnished accommodations in New York City.
Drawing inspiration from his family's longstanding furniture business and leveraging his professional expertise, he co-founded Furnished Quarters with his brother, Gary. The venture began with a single furnished brownstone, which was fully rented within two hours during its first open house.
Over the past 25 years, under Steven's leadership, the company has expanded to offer
thousands of apartments in over 12 major cities across the country, with a growing international presence.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Steven is an active real estate investor and developer,
delivering highly sought-after properties in prime markets. He is also committed to fostering an inclusive corporate culture, leading Furnished Quarters to become an accredited LGBTQ+ diverse business. Steven shares his time between homes on Long Island, New York, and Miami with his husband, Steve Saide, who serves as the company's Executive Vice President of Interior Design.
