Top 5 Coffee Shops in Chelsea, NYC

One thing is certain—there’s no shortage of coffee shops in Manhattan. Whether you need a quick pick me up or a chill place to knock out some work, we’ve rounded up a few Chelsea coffee shops options that will surely hit the mark.

Pushcart Coffee

Simply put, Pushcart is awesome. If you’re on the go, this could be one of the best coffee shops in Chelsea because the line is always efficient.  The prices are reasonable and if you want to settle in, the shop is equipped with several outlets to charge your devices. High Speed Wi-Fi is also available. The coffee is great, but in the cold weather months consider the hot chocolate—it’s so deliciously rich. An indulgent variation is the Nutella hot chocolate—you can’t go wrong.

Bean&Bean

A newer addition to the neighborhood, however, already one of the best Chelsea coffee shops, Bean&Bean impresses with ample open space, outlets and natural light. It thrives as work space with its generous communal tables, Wi-Fi and relaxing music playlists. Pair your warm drink with a fresh pastry or fruit.

Seven Grams Caffé

This cozy spot is well-suited for those on the run, but is a good venue for productivity as well. To compliment your coffee, try decadent pastries like the almond croissant or olive oil bread. The sounds are light and pleasant from the music selection, despite the foot traffic and Seventh Avenue bustle. Grab a loyalty card and start working towards a free treat.

Café Grumpy

So you’re in the mood for a coffee, but feel a little hungry too? Choose from delicious muffins, scones, biscuits and cakes such as the Nectarine Blueberry Corn Muffin with Corn Flake Pearl Sugar Crumble or the Sage and Gruyere Buttermilk Biscuit. Seasonal focaccia varieties are safe bet too. To keep it simple, there’s a ‘no laptop’ policy to be mindful of, but it’s the perfect place to meet a friend or get some reading done.

Argo Tea

While it’s predominately a tea shop, Argo Tea is too good to keep it off the list of our favorite coffee shops in Chelsea. Outlets are all around, the ambience is suitable for working, and the tea, coffee and pastries are quite tasty. It’s a chain, so if you’re not in Chelsea, there may be a closer location. The Chelsea location is very spacious, so finding a seat shouldn’t be a problem. You may even decide to stop by if you can’t find a seat at Seven Grams Caffé—the two shops share the same address!
