4 Best Brunch Spots on the Upper East Side

We’ve posted about our favorite brunch spots on the Upper West Side, but now it’s time to give the Upper East Side brunch spots some love! After a much deserved weekend sleep-in, satisfy your appetite with one of these best brunch spots:

Sarabeth’s East

Fairly similar to its Upper West Side counter-part, this Carnegie Hill location of Sarabeth’s features an impressive selection of items on its brunch menu. For healthier fare, try something from the Steel Oats & Granola options. There’s Chia & Blackberry with pomegranate molasses or the Morning Crunch containing roasted granola, strawberries, bananas, raisins, yogurt or milk. For a heartier breakfast, consider the Buttermilk Pancakes topped with strawberries or the Toasted Coconut Waffles with mango and vanilla rum butter.

Find Sarabeth’s Upper East Side location at 1295 Madison Avenue at East 92nd Street.

Café Boulud

This fine establishment excels with their brunch offerings. On Sundays from 12pm-3pm, try two courses for $39 or three for $49. What can you choose from? Think about the Vermont Egg Omelette with gruyere cheese, roasted potatoes and market greens. For something a bit more substantial, the Bacon Wrapped Trout with creamed corn, red onion compote and salsa verde is a safe bet. Reservations at this Upper East Side brunch are advised

Treat yourself at Café Boulud, 20 East 76th Street.

The Penrose

For a cost-conscious meal with delicious food, try The Penrose. Keep it light with the Avocado on Toast that includes poached eggs and chili flakes or truly indulge with Fried Chicken and Waffles. The latter features maple syrup and valentina sauce. Pair your meal with a Classic Mimosa or Ernest Lemonway. The Ernest Lemonway contains absinthe, Suze, lemon syrup and sparkling wine.

The Penrose is between East 82nd and East 83rd Streets at 1590 2nd Avenue.

Jones Wood Foundry

One of the most popular brunch spots on the Upper East Side is British!  For an English-based menu that you’d find in the heart of Great Britain, visit Jones Wood Foundry. Choose from a generous list of egg dishes such as the Eggs Benedict, Beans on Toast with fried eggs, Corn Beef Hash or Omelette with a mixed green salad side. Main course items include Roast Chicken Salad, Organic Scottish Salmon Burger, Fish & Chips and more. Ask about the JWF Pie of the Day. It’s served with chips or  mashed potato.

Jones Wood Foundry is at 401 East 76th Street between York & 1st Avenue.
