GARY BROWN NAMED VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

President of Furnished Quarters Receives Honor at 2008 Annual Conference

New York, NY (March 26, 2008) – The Corporate Housing Providers Association, an international organization representing corporate housing companies around the globe, presented their seventh annual Tower of Excellence awards at their annual conference in Las Vegas on February 20, 2008. Gary Brown, president of Furnished Quarters, New York’s largest provider of furnished apartments, received the Volunteer of the Year Award for outstanding service in the corporate housing industry and the association.

As the need for temporary furnished apartments continues to grow, Brown has taken the lead in raising awareness, strengthening partnerships and educating others about the corporate housing industry, which provides valuable housing services to businesses and individuals nationwide. To fund the efforts and further promote CHPA’s mission, Brown reached out to the association’s New York chapter members and non-members for contributions while recruiting several new companies to join the association. Together with his own company, Furnished Quarters, Brown raised almost $500,000. In addition, Brown worked with the CHPA to commission an economic industry report.

“We are grateful for Brown’s efforts, his countless hours of volunteer service and his commitment to the corporate housing industry as well as the CHPA,” said Ned Scharpf, president of the association. “His hard work has made a significant impact as elected officials are beginning to recognize the vital role the corporate housing industry plays in New York City’s economy.”
