NEW YORK CITY
Midtown West
Midtown West is generally considered the area between Fifth Avenue (5th Ave) to the Hudson River and from Fifty Ninth Street (59th St) to Fourteenth Street (14th St). Midtown West is a popular destination for nearly all visitors to Manhattan because while it is also a popular place for businesses, there are lots of reasons for tourists to visit.
Midtown West is a section of Manhattan that continues to reinvent itself. From the gorgeous High Line Park in Chelsea to the raucous night life of Hell’s Kitchen – aka (also known as) Clinton; from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and The Port Authority Bus Terminal to Pennsylvania Station (Penn Station – Long Island Rail Road – LIRR / Metro North) and Macy’s Department Store; from the bright lights of The Theatre District to the many great open spaces, there may be more to do in this part of the city than any other.
Dining
Nobu 57, Keen’s Steakhouse, Bar Americain, NORMA’s at Le Parker Meridien Hotel – no matter what type of cuisine you covet you will find it nearby. Midtown West is a foodie’s paradise. Here you will find some of the most well-known restaurants in the city, including Becco, a favorite neighborhood Italian Eatery owned by the reknown Mother / Son restaurateurs Lidia and Joseph Bastianich, to Owner / Chef Eric Ripert’s romantic Le Bernardin, Zagat’s 2007 Restaurant of the Year.
Recreation
Bordering the southwest entrance to Central Park, and home to many quaint parks and playgrounds throughout the area, Midtown West has plenty of outdoor space for the residents of the neighborhoods in this area. |
