Furnished Quarters: Random Acts of Kindness
Feb 14, 2013 04:30 AM
When you think about a company that specializes in furnished apartments, you might think we’re all business. Yes, when it comes to offering the best short-term housing in NYC, we’re the ones to call—not to mention extended stay opportunities in Boston, Jersey City corporate housing, and more.
But Furnished Quarters is about much more than just furnished apartments. We’re about the people who stay with us—we’re about our neighbors, and we’re about you.
We take our commitment to the communities we serve seriously. As you’ve seen in past posts, our corporate initiative FQ Cares allows us to facilitate and participate in a variety of charitable efforts locally and nationally, including AIDS Walk New York, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
In addition to ongoing efforts like these, we also continue to take on new opportunities to “do good” as they arise. One of the latest such opportunities is Team FQs’ participation in The Random Acts of Kindness Week (RAK Week), February 11 through February 17, sponsored by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
The purpose of the week is to go above and beyond to make others feel special. If you’d like to join us in participating, here are some ideas for RAK Week recommended by the RAK Foundation:
·Smile at 10 strangers.
·Buy something for the person in line behind you.
·Reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a while.
·Bring a treat to a neighbor or your co-workers.
·Donate your time or money to a local charity.
·Cook a healthy meal.
·Let someone go in front of you in line.
Although we all try to be as kind as we can every day, RAK Week gives the employees at Furnished Quarters extra incentive to practice what we preach. We hope you’ll agree that there’s no better way to spend our time than helping others in whatever small ways we can.
